Since 1980, the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) has been a dedicated volunteer organization committed to supporting, educating, and celebrating the vibrant Wisconsin music community. We promote local talent, host an annual awards ceremony to recognize outstanding achievements, and provide essential resources for musicians, educators, and industry professionals across the state.

Support the WAMI mission
Through our WAMIcares Donation Fund , we offer the SEED Scholarship which empower young Wisconsin musicians in grades 7–12 who actively take music lessons. This financial assistance covers private lessons, new instruments, music camps, and other educational needs—boosting academic achievement, confidence, creativity, resilience, and discipline. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, WAMI is proud to invest in the future of Wisconsin’s music community.
Join us in Supporting Veterans, Police Officers, Fire Rescue & First Responders
Through our partnership with MUSIC6S (M6S), a fellow 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to healing through harmony, WAMI proudly supports mental health in Wisconsin’s music community. MUSIC6S provides free music education, lessons, and performance opportunities to veterans, first responders, healthcare workers, and others facing PTSD, anxiety, depression, or trauma—building supportive communities where music fosters connection, expression, and hope. Together, we co-host the WAMI Music6s Stage at Summerfest, showcasing talented local artists while promoting wellness and the transformative power of music as medicine for the mind and soul. Join us in this mission: donate instruments or funds, attend events, or nominate artists to help amplify healing and honor Wisconsin’s heroes through music.
